Rules

All entries must be brewed by the person entering, if there are multiple brewers, it need to be clearly stated clearly on the entry form.

Commercial Brewers may enter Home-Brewed beer, however may be ineligible for prizes, dependent on their role within the commercial brewery (Organisers will exercise discretion, however will not be responsible for entrants not declaring their eligibility at the time of entering).

Entry fees are non-negotiable and are as follow: $ 15.00 per entry.

A minimum of 2 x bottles (minimm 500ml) will be required for judging purposes, organisers reserve the right to exclude from prizes in this situation (entries received that do not have a second bottle will be ineligible for the best of show round).

Whilst we take care with all entries, any loss, damage, or other unforeseen circumstances is the sole responsibility of the entrant.

All entries must be registered on or before the cutoff date/time specified.

All bottles must be in Christchurch on or before the specified cut off time and date (please refer specified drop-off locations for further detail).

Hubs will be operating from numerous locations, all of which will ensure arrival at the specified location on or before the cut off time/date.

All entries received will be kept in cold storage wherever possible, any uncarbonated or bottle conditioned bottles will not be stored separately.

All bottles entered must have an attached label, clearly stating the ID number of the entry (any bottle received with improper or unclear labelling may be excluded).

Labels must be securely fastened (no responsibility will be taken by organisers for any label that falls off).

Entrant may enter multiple beers, in multiple categories (Note: the same beer may not be entered into more than one category, please choose carefully prior to entry).

Judges, officials, stewards and any affiliated parties are eligible to enter (eligibility for prizes will be at the judges discretion).

Judges will participate in a Best of show round to determine an overall champion beer, all entries will be at the discretion of the judging panel (beers must be of medal quality to be considered).

Any entrant who does not wish to allow access to their recipe may forfeit their prize to the next in line.

All entry fees are non-refundable (including damaged bottles, disqualified entries & entries not received).

If necessary, the competition organisers reserve the right to cap entry numbers to a manageable number without notice. Currently the competition is capped at 200 entries.
Entry Acceptance Rules
Number of Bottles Required Per Entry: 2
Entries are open to all New Zealand residents aged 18 or over. Minimum volume for entry; 2 bottles, each with a minimum volume of 500ml. Additional bottles are required in case of breakage, single bottle infections, or Best Of Show taste-offs.
Entry Fee: $15.00 per entry. Entry fees must be paid before the start of the competition to be eligible for judging. Each bottle must be labelled with the label generated by the registration software.
Each entry will receive a minimum of 1 x BJCP-style judge scoresheets. Beers will be judged according to the BJCP 2021 guidelines only.
